Yes, really. I don't consider this year an aberration so much as the culmination of a disturbing trend towards extremism.  And a process that delivers the likes of Donald Trump as a major party nominee is not sacred to me.
And, I'm not certain that Trump will lose. It's a long time till November.

I am suspicious of great populist movements, and unconvinced in the wisdom of the mob.
And, what I have seen this year has not elevated my opinion of populism.
