Does the reality star know anything about economics?
Doesn't look that way.
Does the reality star understand the limits of Presidential power? Has he ever read the Constitution?
Doesn't look that way.
Donald Trump’s Energy Plan: More Fossil Fuels and Fewer Rules
BISMARCK, N.D. — Donald J. Trump traveled Thursday to the heart of America’s oil and gas boom, where he called for more fossil fuel drilling and fewer environmental regulations while vowing to “cancel the Paris climate agreement,” the 2015 accord committing nearly every nation to taking action to curb climate change.
Laying out his positions on energy and the environment at an oil industry conference in North Dakota, he vowed to rescind President Obama’s signature climate change rules and revive construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would bring petroleum from Canada’s oil sands to Gulf Coast refineries.
It was the latest in a series of recent policy addresses, including on Israel and foreign policy, intended to position Mr. Trump, the real estate mogul and reality show star, as credible on substantive issues now that he is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
But experts remain skeptical of Mr. Trump’s command of the complexities of the global energy economy. And he made claims, such as a promise to restore jobs lost in coal mining, that essentially defy free-market forces.
“Many of his proposals thus far don’t seem to appreciate the complex forces that drive the energy system,” said Richard G. Newell, an energy economist at Duke University who has closely followed Mr. Trump’s remarks.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
A central question confronting the next president will be how to address climate change. Mr. Trump, who has repeatedly denied the established science that climate change is caused by humans, vowed in his speech to undo many of Mr. Obama’s initiatives.
He did not explicitly address the scientific legitimacy of human-caused climate change, but said, “We’re going to deal with real environmental challenges, not the phony ones we’ve been hearing about.”
Mr. Trump said that in his first 100 days in office, he would “rescind” Environmental Protection Agency regulations established under Mr. Obama to curb planet-warming emissions from coal-fired power plants.
“Regulations that shut down hundreds of coal-fired power plants and block the construction of new ones — how stupid is that?” Mr. Trump said.
However, the next president will not have the legal authority to unilaterally rescind the climate rules, which are now being litigated in federal courts. If, as is widely expected, the case goes to the Supreme Court, the justices, rather than the president, will determine its fate. But if elected, Mr. Trump could nominate a new Supreme Court justice to help strike down the rule.

Before we get off into the weeds with climate change denial,,,,,, let me point out that the actual issues raised in this thread are two questions.
1. Does reality TV star Trump understand the economics of the energy market?
2. Does reality TV star Trump actually understand how our government works?

Drumpf doesn't have to 'understand' anything.
As an earlier poster explained in another thread: he's "a plain speaking populist who is not afraid to offend'.
And, as far as 'understanding' those annoying issues that a president might have to face: "Steve House, chairman of the Colorado Republican Party and an unbound delegate who confirmed his support of Trump to the AP, said he likes the billionaire's background as a businessman."Leadership is leadership," House said. "If he can surround himself with the political talent, I think he will be fine."
Some people are obviously 'fine' with that degree of 'understanding'.
I am not convinced.

1. No
2. No
I've been on this world for over half a century and I've never seen anyone less suited for office...of any kind.
He's just saying what some people want to hear and the people who want to hear it are lapping it up.

Sadly true.
Trump does need to know anything about the energy market, the presidency, or anything else it seems to appeal to some people.
He just needs to project a strong man image.
People are fine with a bully as long as he is their bully.

So the question should be does a very successful billion dollar businessman understand the economics of the energy market? Yes
Does he understand how our government works? Yes
Most of what Obama did was by executive order. The first week of the Trump presidency will see 90% of what Obama did reversed. Trump will use his pen and phone just like Obama.
There won't be any need for the courts to rule because the order will be revoked.
Can Executive Orders be Overridden or Withdrawn?
"The president can amend or retract an executive at any time. The president may also issue an executive order superseding an existing one. New incoming presidents may choose to retain the executive orders issued by their predecessors, replace them with new ones of their own, or revoke the old ones completely. In extreme cases, Congress may pass a law that alters an executive order, and they can be declared unconstitutional and vacated by the Supreme Court."

Like what? What executive orders do you see being reversed?

The ACA would amount to a large chunk of what Obama accomplished.
How does Trump reverse that in a week?
It seems that supporting trump requires one to willingly suspend disbelief and to ignore how the republic functions

This inference that Obama overstepped his authority by excessive use of executive orders is nonsense.
Common, do you have any idea how Obama compares to other presidents in his use of executive orders?
