The Myth of the Super Delegates

I congratulate Bernie Sanders on his achievements. He has done more than any of us expected, and has garnered enormous support. I will not try to take any of that away from him.

But, I'm a little miffed with the popular narrative forming in some media circles, that Clinton is hated and is only winning because of unelected super delegates.
This is simply untrue.

Bernie has won 19 primaries or caucuses. Congratulations.
According to Wikipedia, Clinton has won 26 contests.
The popular vote total is Clinton 12.6 million, Sanders 9.5 million.  56% -43%
Selected delegates, Clinton 1717, Sanders 1437.

Hey, if anyone can claim that the system is unfair, it's Hillary Clinton.
In 2008 she "lost" the nomination to Barack Obama despite getting  17,857,501 votes to his 17,584,692.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: The Myth of the Super Delegates

I understand exactly what you are pointing out, and yes, Clinton currently has 3 million more votes than the Bern, and for me, that's what matters.  Bernie is behind in the category that means the most to me.  The entire delegate/super delegate thing blows.

But, I'm sticking with Bernie without bad-mouthing Hillary.  I just like Bernie better, and I'd take either one of them over Donald Trump.

I'll echo those sentiments.
