I think there is a Yes and No answer to this.
For ardent Trump supporters it does nothing but solidify his message.
But coupled with his hateful rhetoric for many on the stump speeches, it will give many pause whether he could be an effective President and a "uniter" as he as so often has claimed. This particularly true when it comes to the actual Presidential election (vs the current primaries)

Absolutely they do!
Look at the numbers tennyson posted Trump is up by over 2 million votes in the republican primaries!
And think of the negative ads that were run against him in Florida. Tens of millions of dollars in a few days.
Trump with out a doubt is very reckless with his words! But it seems that at least for the primaries people have looked at that and don't care or don't see it as disqualifying to be President.

The D-tribe turnout voter wise I believe at this juncture is not as important as the R-tribe turnout. It is undeniable that Trump has the ear of a lot of voters. I am not sure they in truth understand that he is not really saying much of substance however.

Trump does a pretty good job painting his supporters and himself as victims of unfair and abusive treatment by those that oppose him both outside and inside his tribe. For now, I'd say it's working. Not sure how long it will work over the next few months. Too bad the R-Tribe couldn't come up with better candidates to challenge this toad.
