The outside's kind of hard and crunchy but the meat inside is delicious.

Or maybe he just wanted a little nibble. You know, just to see what it tastes like. Maybe like a kind of homosapien sushi?
Do people think they're invisible to animals? Or maybe the animals have started taking advantage of the fact that we act like they're stupid. Hmmm...
