Question - What makes David Koch a Libertarian?

My first thoughts on reading this was..--what benefit does he get from this?  They don't seem to do anything unless they profit from it.

BYOB got pretty close to my feelings about it.  More and more people (voters) are accepting gay marriage as a civil right, and the Koch's aren't that interested in social issues.  I'm guessing by voicing their opinion on the issue makes them look good to a wider audience, and thus the puppets they own in congress will fall in line expanding their appeal to more voters.
