Color me shocked.Me either !
As an aside, I wonder IF ANY OTHER person in her position would have had the guts to go after the PORNGATE issue ?Question: Was porngate that big of a deal to anyone? I mean yes, it was scummy and stupid of a supreme court justice to engage in forwarding explicit e-mails. And yes, McCaffery deserved to get booted from the bench. And yes, it's not good government and it's bad for the culture of her office and to women in general.
But at the end of the day, all she exposed was that guys can be pigs and that they like pictures of naked women.
On the other hand, she single-handedly shut down a bribery sting that netted fellow democrats, bullied a highly regarded prosecutor, and tried to do it all under court seal so she wouldn't be found out.
And then when she was called out on it, she played the race card (essentially calling her fellow prosecutors racists) and blamed the 'ol boys club.
Kathleen Kane, whom I voted for, is a horrible AG, a horrible manager or people, and unaccountable to her constituents, or frankly, herself.
I'll be glad when she's gone.
I think you described the current situation pretty well.
The sooner she is gone the better it will be for the State. A major embarrassment.

I agree with Lager. I voted for her as well and quickly regretted it.
I am glad she isn't running for re-election, I just wish she would have already resigned.

I'll make it a trio of regret.
My only reason for voting for her--as for Tom Wolf--was because I knew that Corbett had deliberately stalled the Sandusky investigation until he was safely in the Governor's mansion and had appointed a lamebrain AG to keep it moving at a snail's pace.
As for Porngate: I've met Seamus McCafferty several times. He's smart, witty, innovative....it would be great to celebrate St. Patrick's day with him and a case of Guiness. And I've met Michael Eakin a couple of times...another good egg, especially for having put away the killers of New Cumberland Borough Officer Wills Cole back when he was the Cumberland County DA.
So they like pictures of nekkid women. What red blooded male, other than a monastic, coesn't? Big error in judgement in using a work computer to pass around porn, but that in itself should not be a career-ender. I can't call Kane "courageous" for what amounts to character assassination.

I believe even though it was labeled "Porngate", some of the recovered emails were more than just porn. I am no particular fan of Kane, but if you read through some of the revelations about the emails that finally were unsealed rather recently it helps you understand that there were people out to get her. Her actual charge(s) that were brought were ones that I believe former AG's did and nothing came of them.
I am glad she is not running again also, but at the same time I am glad she did not cave in earlier and resign.
BTW, did ANYONE here ever send or receive porn on a work computer ? I would expect the answer is NO. And, if you did and the company found out, what do you expect the treatment would have been ?
