Well, Damien has proven once again that he and his campaign will stoop to any level to gain some advantage. His campaign decided it would be fun to send out deceptive, official looking letters to voters to frighten them into showing up at caucuses. This is the same guy that complains on the government intrusion into our lives. However, if a fake government style document will induce enough fear into people to vote for TrusTED, well I guess that's OK. What a disingenuous douchebag.
Cruz Campaign Under Fire for Sending Iowans Controversial Letter
Ted Cruz's campaign is under fire for a mailer it sent out in Iowa that is designed to look like an official government document.
The mailers tell the recipients they have a "voting violation" for failing to caucus in previous elections, and grades them on an A to F basis, Politico reports. The paper has the words "official public record at the top," and also includes actual names of the recipients neighbors.
Republican Secretary of State Paul Pate slammed the campaign, saying the mailer "misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law.”
“There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting,” he continued in a statement. “Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa caucuses.”
Iowa election officials aren't the only ones upset by the tactic. One recipient of the mailer tweeted a picture of it, since deleted, saying the mailer turned him off of Cruz's campaign and that he will caucus for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio instead.
He later clarified on Twitter that he was never a Cruz supporter:
But that he was still very upset by the mailer:
Another angry Twitter user? Cruz's opponent, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul:
Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said the notice is “a standard mailer that folks at the Iowa Republican Party and other get-out-the-vote groups have used to help motivate low-propensity voters,” according to Politico.
Ahhhh, yes . . . What could be more helpful than "a standard mailer . . . used to help motivate low-propensity voters".
Kinda like those robocalls that threaten that the IRS will start legal action on you if you don't provide the caller with a credit card number to settle your under payment of taxes.
Oh, Damien, what devious devices will you and your campaign come up with next to induce enough fear into people to vote for you? How about eternal damnation?

This actually happened to me a few elections ago. Some group out of VA sent a flyer saying that you need to vote this election. And here is your voting record. Not who you voted for but that you did or did not vote. Of course the info they had was wrong. They also said your neighbors would know if you voted or not. I contacted channel 8 WBAL and wrote a e-mail to complain.
I don't know if I still have the flier but will look for it and if I do I will post more about it.
Maybe it's just me... but eternal damnation for sending out a mailer? Seems a bit harsh?

That's pretty egregious.
Ted sure has put his foot in it quite a bit the last few days.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

No, I meant that Damien would threaten voters with the possibility of eternal damnation if they do not vote for him.
I think, just by being Damien, spawn of Beelzebub, he's already damned.

I remember getting a similar mailer when I was still out in York. Can't remember what for but I think it was the 2012 POTUS election. I remember it wasn't accurate. Some wrong neighbor names and had my voting percentage all wrong.
I wish campaigns and interest groups would realize how annoying direct mailers are. Interest groups, campaigns, DNC, RNC, Senate and Congressional reelection committees. It's too much and they usually go right into my garbage.
