From an article published in Reuters:
Austin State Hospital, the oldest psychiatric hospital in Texas, has taken down its signs banning guns. The move is in line with the state’s new firearms law which allows the open carry of guns in state psychiatric hospitals.
10 days on from the enactment of the new open carry gun law and the real impact is being felt.
Mental Health advocates have condemned the law, saying it could negatively impact patients’ treatments and could lead to an increase in suicide rates.
Gee, do ya think?
Actually, I'm pretty sure the state legislature will take another look at this, and something in the law will change.

Well, it's the inevitable endpoint of a quasi-religious dogma.
Reason, and wisdom are not relevant to it.

Mix one part guns with one part mental patients. Let stew, then enjoy an armed confrontation.
Since Ammon Bundy and his group of Oregon occupiers are looking for supplies to sustain their patriotic protest, somebody should send them this. From what I read, they're not to thrilled with some of the supplies that have been sent to the militia . . . Like the bag of dicks they received.
Unfortunately, this is the kind of recipe for disaster that you get when you mix guns and mental patients.

Guns are good. In every situation.
No exception.
There isn't a problem around that wouldn't be easier to manage with a bunch of armed people.
