Well it looks like Santa will be armed and oh so dangerous this year.
Guns topping Christmas lists thanks to terrorism concerns, fear over restrictions
The convergence of fears over terrorism, a perceived threat of gun laws being changed and the Christmas holiday have sent gun sales soaring in what is already the busiest month of the year for firearm purchases.Guns are at the top of many Christmas lists, especially if November is any indication.
Last month, the FBI ran more than 2.2 million firearm background checks on potential buyers, a 24 percent increase from November 2014. On Black Friday, a record 185,345 background checks were processed by the FBI.

Do you see this as a good thing?
In other words, what problem does America face that can be solved by increasing the number of guns on our streets?

Well . . . Those facts certainly make me feel safer and more secure.
Nothing like a Smith & Wesson in your stocking hanging by the fireplace. Really spreads the Yuletide spirit.

I think it will instigate more heartwarming Christmas stories like this:
A man died Tuesday night after he shot himself in the chest while cleaning his gun, police said.
Josmel Herrera, 43, accidentally shot himself while "explaining the proper way to clean a firearm" on a video call with a family member, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue received several calls about a shooting inside a home in the 10600 block of Southwest 27th Street just before 7:30 p.m.
Paramedics performed emergency care and took Herrera to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he died.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
