The Bigger Picture
There's been alot of poop thrown around about both the Republican and Democratic primaries and those jockeying for tribal voter support. However, simply winning the nomination for the job is only the beginning, not the endgame, since the real prize is winning the presidency.
I thought this piece is more revealing, and in the end, more important:
If the presidential election were held today, Republican candidate Donald Trump would lose to either of the two leading Democratic candidates, a new Quinnipiac poll found.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, would actually be more successful than Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton, leading Trump 51 percent to 38 percent. Clinton's lead is smaller: She would beat Trump 47 percent to 40 percent.

Well then, Democrats have nothing to worry about.
Does this mean that Trump threads won't take up half the front page in this sub-forum?

I don't think this is important, we are over 10 months out from the general election and more likely than not, Trump won't be the nominee. At this point, the only thing that matters is the primary.
And while my preference is for Rubio, I now believe this is setting up for Cruz to win the nomination. I think he takes Iowa, gets momentum and does well in NH and then the next primaries are southern states and he will rack up delegates there and the momentum will be all his. Rubio will need Bush, Christie and Kasich to falter early and drop out or he will finish a distant second

Since polls are being thrown around every day, I only offered this up because so much attention is focused on potential tribal flag bearers. I'm sure both tribes are looking beyond the primaries and how their chosen chief might stack up against the opposing tribe's choice.
Can't answer that question, Jeer. Right now the Trumpster is splattered all over the news outlets. That's what happens to celebrities in America.

You are under no obligation to read content that you are not interested in.
Here's a thought. Perhaps you could offer some content to the forum rather than making snide remarks about those who do.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

However, it does point to a difference in how Trump may be perceived outside the GOP bubble.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I would agree that a general election poll at this point really isn't definitive.
However, it does point to a difference in how Trump may be perceived outside the GOP bubble.
That was my point. Winning a primary is only the beginning. I'm sure the mucky-mucks within the political party machinery are looking beyond the primary fights within their respective tribes.

This is among the dozen or so political forums I visit everyday.
It's a fun place to read but posting has been shown to be without any benefit.
