I think that, with the rise of ISIS and the probable act of domestic terrorism in California, the key 2016 issue has emerged. It will be security.
It is unlikely to be same sex marriage, the imagined war on Christmas, or bemoaning the loss of "traditional values".
With that, I am left with the thought that there is absolutely no logical reason for the existence of a Huckabee, Santorum, or Carson candidacy. Please, Mike go back to your Fox show, Rick to your think tank, and Ben,,,, write a self help book.

Yeah, It was just reported that the woman involved in the California shooting had "pledged her support to ISIS".
I think it changes the shape of the race. And puts us back on a war footing. The key issues could be
Homeland Security
Our military role in the middle east
Our support of Israel
Civil Liberties and the balance between safety/security
Immigration
From a GOP standpoint, I think the change in focus helps Rubio, Trump, and probably Jeb (and maybe even Chris Christie)
And from the Dem side, I suppose it just coalesces support around Hillary.
In terms of thinning the herd, we won't see that until after Iowa at the earliest.

I'm thinking that Christie, and Jeb benefit the most. Possibly Kasich.
Carson is done.
Trump? Who knows? Yesterday the guy said he could bring peace to the middle East in six months.
Trump's future depends on how long grandiosity and serial lying remain fashionable.
