Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, already under fire for his foreign policy acumen, is now being criticized for his grasp of history, particularly that of Thomas Jefferson.
In a C-SPAN interview broadcast Sunday, Carson praised Jefferson as a Founding Father who “tried to craft our Constitution in a way that it would control peoples’ natural tendencies and control the natural growth of the government.”
Jefferson, however, did not participate in the development of the U.S. Constitution during a 1787 convention. As Carson himself pointed out in his book A More Perfect Union, Jefferson was serving as U.S. minister to France at that time. The Washington Post, which reported on Carson’s flub, also noted that “it’s not the first time Carson has abused Jefferson’s history.”
The Post reported:
[quote888]“Thomas Jefferson himself said, ‘Gun control works great for the people who are law-abiding citizens and it does nothing for the criminals, and all it does is put the people at risk,’” he told Fox’s Neil Cavuto after the shootings at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore. in early October. Jefferson never said that.[/quote888][/quote888][/quote888]

Yea, but Jefferson was right when he pointed out that the Germans would never had won at Pearl Harbor if general Lee hadn't confiscated all the guns in Hawaii

Now I'm not as familiar with NYC as I should be, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Trump: 'Many people jumped and I witnessed it' on 9/11
"Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday
Trump's apartment is apparently 4 miles or so from the World Trade Center, so the guy has phenomenal vision.
And, apparently, the apartment has a great view in the other direction, towards Jersey City, which allowed Trump to "personally witness" celebrations there.
Say anything

One of my un-named, anonymous sources who is close to The Donald, but didn't want his/her identity made public for fear of hearing the catchphrase "you're fired" blurted out to him/her, revealed to me in a confidential conversation held at a non-descript safe house within the last few days, that The Donald insisted he saw everything he described from his NYC apartment. My source quotes The Donald saying: "I built the building and tastefully designed the apartment to have huuuuuge Windows that would provide me with expansive vistas of not only New York and New Jersey, but the entire world. That viewpoint, plus my spectacular vision, which is sharper than any other human being and some animals on this planet, provides me with the greatest insight on world affairs. To my knowledge, only Sarah Palin came close to my perceptive vision on the world, but ya know she could only see over to Russia from her house."
