Although Mr. Trump has drawn criticism for unveiling few detailed policy proposals, many of his supporters said they were unbothered.
“When he gets in there, he’ll figure it out,” said Amanda Mancini, who said she had traveled from California to see Mr. Trump. “So we do have to trust him, ,,,,,,
Still, others said they had plenty of advice for the man they regularly identified in conversation as “Mr. Trump.”
“Hopefully, he’s going to sit there and say, ‘When I become elected president, what we’re going to do is we’re going to make the border a vacation spot, it’s going to cost you $25 for a permit, and then you get $50 for every confirmed kill,’ ” said Jim Sherota, 53, who works for a landscaping company. “That’d be one nice thing.”

I am dismayed by the almost child-like, unsophisicated thinking of his supporters. But I guess that is what happenes when you dumb-down the public to this extent. Logic and critical thinking flies out the window.

"Supporters unbothered... when he gets there he'll figure it out." No mention of the Congress, the Constitution or the U. S. Supreme Court. Are these people so ignorant of how their governments works they believe "he" will figure "it" out and this is all that's required to run the most powerful country in the world?

How about the guy who thinks it's funny to joke about hunting illegal immigrants?
Doesn't he realize that Zyklon B is much more efficient?

Well, if you spend years and years doing your best to pooh-pooh education, not questioning authority,or promoting critical thinking skills, while voting for some weiner-head you'd 'like to have a beer with' you end up with the government you deserve. I'm not even sure we deserve to have democratic rule anymore.
I remember something about a guy that was frustrated because he was rejected by an art school getting elected by convincing enough people the nation's problems were the fault of Jews. Who was that guy, anyway?

Recently, I read Barbara Tuchman's The Proud Tower: A Portrait of the World Before the War, 1890-1914
The chapters on Great Britain were interesting. Nearly all members of Parliment were from the landed gentry. They were some of the richest men in the country. These men generally served with little or no compensation. They didn't have to go to London to make their fortune. They already had a fortune. Serving their country was considered a duty. From those whom much is given, much is expected. In other words, Noblesse oblige.
Immediately prior to the first war, only about 50% of adult males in Great Britain could vote. Voting rights were property-based.
Was it coincidence that the era of Britain's greatness coincided with this type of governance?
Now, I realize that the idea of an aristocracy is anathema to most Americans.
But, make no mistake, we have a governing elite in this country.
Our representatives are not rich. They are merely wealthy. And the wealth that they have is not their own. It comes from stearing policy in ways that benefit their rich patrons. Wealth is not brought to Washington. It is derived from Washington.
And yeah, we have universal suffrage. Is it any better than limited but informed suffrage?
Spend five minutes talking to the average Trump voter and get back to me.

Democracy substitutes election by the incompetent many over appointment by the corrupt few.
True. We had a good run.
