I am blessed with an abundance of mint....growing like weeds in the perrenial bed, among the river stones beneath my deck, and now migrating to an area that I am allowing to become semi unmowed thanks to spreading ground covers.
A couple weeks a ago some friends introduced me to the refreshing drink of "mint water" which is simply a handful of leaves (or a stem with many leaves attached) of mint dropped into a pitcher of ice water, or a couple of leaves in a single glass.
Having always had a weakness for mint juleps, I tried that very simple technique with bourbon on the rocks.
Fantastic.
Then I tried it with Tequilla on the rocks.....wow!
And now tonight....with clear rum (Ron Rico brand) on the rocks. If I weren't morally opposed to using "OMG" I'd say "OMG"
That is so smooth and so cool that it could do some very serious damage.
And will. The night is young.

Don't forget the traditional Mojito! A great refreshing summertime drink.
