Profiles in Cowardice

Huckabee won't be 'baited' into Confederate flag debate, says it's not a ‘presidential’ issue

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said on Sunday he wouldn’t be “baited” into the politically charged Confederate flag debate in South Carolina, joining a group of fellow GOP White House contenders that says the state must decide.

“Everyone's being baited with this question as if somehow that has anything to do whatsoever with running for president," Huckabee, a 2008 presidential candidate and former Arkansas governor, said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "My position is it most certainly does not."

So, Racism and the confederate flag is not a "Presidential Issue", and therefore Huckabee won't comment on it.

But, Mike will comment on song lyrics by Beyonce?

And, apparently women's libidos are Presidential, and Mike can talk about that.

And Huckabee does find it "presidential to compare homosexuality to necrophilia.
And Huckabee does find it "presidential" to amend the constitution to endorse one religion.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Profiles in Cowardice

It appears that both Sen Lindsay Graham and Gov Nikki Haley will be calling for the removal of the flag from the state capitol grounds.

Re: Profiles in Cowardice

Confimed that both S.C. senators and the Governor will call for flag to be taken down.

Additionally, both Tennessee senators (Corker and Alexander) have called for the removal of the flag.

Re: Profiles in Cowardice

Interesting -- Jake Tapper from CNN is tweeting that although the overwhelming majority of the S.C. General Assembly support keeping the flag on the state grounds, he can't get one to come on TV to defend it.

Re: Profiles in Cowardice

Maybe if they stop referring to it as The Confederate Flag and start referring to it as The Flag of the Traitor Nation they would generate more interest?

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.
