I understand your point:  While school shootings are part of the problem, please check out total mass shootings in the USA that have taken place so far in 2019.

I can't offer anything else either, Tennyson, except we are told guns will make us safer.  That's the way it was 250 years ago anyway.  Geez.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump attempted to further distance himself from a racist chant shouted at a North Carolina campaign rally earlier this week by denying that he had attended the rally.

“I wasn’t there,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday. “If I had been there, you can be sure I would have done everything I could to stop them from chanting.”

Trump said that he was furious that thousands of people had apparently assembled in North Carolina to chant racist things when he was nowhere near the rally and thus totally incapable of intervening.

“It’s the kind of thing I would have been disgusted by if I had been there to hear it,” he said. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t there.”

On Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham lashed out at reporters for persistently claiming that Trump had, in fact, attended the rally. “If he says he wasn’t there, then, damn it, he wasn’t there,” a visibly furious Graham said. “How do you people sleep at night?”

President Donald Trump traded barbs with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a press conference, claiming she's a "mess" and calling her "crazy" after she suggested the President's family should stage an intervention for the good of the country. Trump also insisted that he is a "stable genius" and called on aides to back him up. #CNN #News

I agree.  I posted the same feeling on the 'politics' thread.  Trump is trying to run a nation as if it were some kind of reality tv show ................ like all tv reality shows, they get old, predictable, and boring after a while.

I'm getting the feeling now that even Republicans and Trump supporters are becoming exhausted with this president.  He seems to simply suck the air out a room no matter where he goes and what he says.

President Donald Trump has effectively taken charge of the nation’s premier Fourth of July celebration in Washington, moving the gargantuan fireworks display from its usual spot on the Mall to be closer to the Potomac River and making tentative plans to address the nation from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, according to top administration officials.

The president's starring role has the potential to turn what has long been a nonpartisan celebration of the nation's founding into another version of a Trump campaign rally. Officials said it is unclear how much the changes may cost, but the plans have already raised alarms among city officials and some lawmakers about the potential impact of such major alterations to a time-honored and well-organized summer tradition.

Actually this could be a record:

Over the course of 17 hours, President Donald Trump repeated 17 false and misleading claims that we have written about since he became president.

Trump began with an evening rally in Panama City Beach, Florida, on May 8, that lasted more than an hour, and followed it up a day later with an impromptu afternoon press conference at the White House.

Here are the repeated claims that the president made, from when the rally started at about 8 p.m. on May 8 to the end of the press conference at 12:49 p.m. on May 9.

I got smacked pretty hard, but that's probably due to fact that I had a good year selling paintings.  It's hard for me to predict tax stuff because I can't predict the sale of my artwork from year to year.

This is just one of the latest examples:

Donald Trump visited Puerto Rico yesterday for a rally.......... He told the audience that the USA has contributed 91 billion dollars for their recovery, more than any other place.

Fact:  Puerto Rico received 11 billion dollars and after Katrina, the area affected received 120 billion.

So, we have 2 lies here.  Now we should wait for Fox News to report that and correct him.  Hold your breath.
