Seriously?! Our police departments are being held hostage by hackers for money? And their only option is to pay up?! That's scary.

A very lovely sounding, but loud bird has taken to announcing it's presence in the tree outside my bedroom window in the morning. I haven't gotten a look at him/her yet, but I'll keep trying. I thought he/she would be a sizeable bird based on it's sizeable voice, but I'm guessing he/she is probably some little well-camoflaged thing, or else it knows when I'm conducting surveillance.

I don't like the idea of people losing their houses either. But, being a logician, I really want to know if it's 10,000 or 10.
The scope of any problem matters when trying to fashion a solution. That's just me
That's fine with me, I like solid numbers too. They do matter.
I know you don't care for anecdotal cases, but that's what data collects. So, knowing of more than a few cases personally, as well as almost being one of those data points myself - which I had to put my lawyer on the case and learned a lot from him about the situation going on with people including many he represented for the same purposes, I'm aware of many actual factual cases. Just because the data isn't being officially tracked, does not mean the data isn't there waiting to be collected. I really wish they would keep an official number, but I'm guessing that if they did, it wouldn't paint things in a very good light, so I'm not holding my breath for those official numbers.

I'm only jumping in to say that people can dispute the 10,000 sheriff sales number if they want, but let's not act like none of those sales are due to high property taxes please, because that would be false. I really don't care if only a third of them are due to property taxes, it's a third too many. You should lose your house because you can no longer pay for it, not the taxes on it that you pay over and over.
To be fair, I was the one who had brought up Krauthammer's looks to begin with in a previous topic a while ago. Even though I find Mr. Krauthammer to have an 'unusual' look, it has zero factor on how I feel about his politics. If Krauthammer was a super-liberal, I would still feel the same. I can retain my thinking abilities in the midst of visuals. It is interesting that conservatives are always complaining about the "PC police", yet choose to deploy it when it's useful to them.

Oh definitely! I haven't seen them live in a while, but I still listen to their music regularly.
I'll leave it here so as not to hijack the thread. I'm gonna go dig out Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell for old times sake.

Rongone nailed it again. He seems to be on a roll lately.
Anyhow, I oppose the death penalty, and I would ask Mr. Starnes this: Suppose there are 100 people on death row. 99 of of them are guilty, but 1 of them is innocent, but you don't know which one that is. Do you execute some of them, all of them, or none of them?I think that, in the case of Todd Starnes, we need to back up a few steps.
Todd, could you please respect someone's opposition to the death penalty and disagree with them without calling them "imbeciles", or slapping the "left winger" label on them?
Then we could debate the topic like reasonable people.
It's probably in his contract that he has to throw it in like a garnish.

I thought York City viewed having a chief recovery officer as a bad thing and didn't want that? Turns out it is only a bad thing if it's not a democrat who appoints them. Childish, partisan politics at its best.
And why is Mayor Bracey getting involved in York City School District business?Hey, The Man, isn't that the Social Distortion skeleton as your avatar? Nice!
Yes it is! Thanks!

National News » New Sea Drilling Rule Planned, 5 Years After BP Oil Spill » 4/11/2015 8:34 am |
I keep seeing BP commercials about how the Gulf is better, and how they've now made it so that they can moniter the drills on-shore and put in safety mechanisms so that anyone on the rig can shut it down at any stage.
Does anyone else find it just incredible that they didn't moniter the ocean drilling rigs from their on-shore facility until now?!
How was that not one of the prerequisites before you can even set up an off-shore operation?!
I don't get it.
