The Politics of Fear

Trump warns of 'violence' if Republicans lose fall elections

Trump was stressing the stakes in November when he warned that, if Democrats win, they "will overturn everything that we've done and they'll do it quickly and violently," according to attendees and audio of his closed-door remarks obtained by media outlets, including The New York Times. He specifically mentioned self-described antifa, or anti-fascist groups, describing them as "violent people."

It looks like the Republican strategy for 2018 is to play on fear. They aren't talking about infrastructure, Health insurance premiums, clean water,,,,,,,
No, It's Antifa, violence, MS13, Build the Wall, Socialism, Illegals killing your daughters,,,,,

Their slogan might as well be,  "Look out white People!".
This is going to be an ugly election. Even by today's sorry standards.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: The Politics of Fear

I thought this was one of Trump's most sinister statements (and that says alot). "Be afraid, everybody"  is the obvious message and this time, not even veiled.

Re: The Politics of Fear

The GOP seems to rely on fear a LOT to stimulate their faithful.

Re: The Politics of Fear

All this anger and fear from the party that controls the White House and both houses of Congress.
Amazing.
