The Consoler In Chief

Trump was asked about the deaths of four Green Berets in Niger.
All he had to do was express sympathy.

Instead, over two days trump has turned it into a freak show of fact checking,,,, of offending the family of one soldier,,,, of insulting former Presidents,,,,
AND using General Kelly's dead son as a political throw away line.

Unbelievable.
The President has no sense of decency.
What an a-hole.

Re: The Consoler In Chief

Based on the president’s stellar AVOIDANCE of military service, there’s no way he could even begin to understand “what he signed up for”.

What a buffoon.

Empathy is, never was, and never will be Trump's strong suit.

He is certainly the worst POTUS ever.

True.
Here he takes perhaps the most solemn and sacred duty of a commander in chief and drags it down into the personal and hyper-partisan shitshow that is his life, and now his presidency.
It may take the Republic a generation to recover from this guy.
Even worse than Trump is the unbelievable degradation that his followers submit themselves to in order to excuse his every outrage.

BTW, he might have spared General Kelly the pain of having his son's name dragged into this.
But, that just wouldn't be Trump.

Re: The Consoler In Chief

And now, this:

Trump sends $25,000 check to fallen soldier's family on same day as Washington Post report

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump sent a $25,000 personal check to the family of a fallen soldier the same day that The Washington Post reported that he had promised the soldier's father a personal donation during a June condolence call but never followed through.
