The Times Issues Social Media Guidelines for the Newsroom

The NYT times wants to make sure that their reporters do not show their biases in their social media. It's a little late for this guidance to come out now. Everyone knows and the reporting from NYT proves it most everyday.
This just reinforces what we know about them.

The Times Issues Social Media Guidelines for the Newsroom

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/13/reader-center/social-media-guidelines.html

Here Are the Key Points

• In social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates, make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Times’s journalistic reputation.

• Our journalists should be especially mindful of appearing to take sides on issues that The Times is seeking to cover objectively.

• These guidelines apply to everyone in every department of the newsroom, including those not involved in coverage of government and politics.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

What specific issues do you have with the guidelines themselves?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Hmmmmm . . . I wonder what social media guidelines in regards to demonstrating their political bias the “reporters” from Breitbart, legal insurrection, Daily Caller, Free Republic, The Blaze, The Drudge Report, Fox ‘news’, and the like have instituted for their employees?

I recall conservatives getting into a lather when journalists let loose on social media.
Now they are riled up that guidelines are being imposed.
Obviously there is no pleasing them
