High winds bring down cherry trees near Jefferson Memorial

When all the Cherry blossoms are in full bloom it is a truly amazing sight to see. The Cherry blossom festival celebrates the cherry trees that were given to us by Japan.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Several cherry trees were uprooted when heavy rains and strong winds blew through the Nation's Capital.The National Park Service said on its Twitter feed that about a dozen trees were uprooted Thursday afternoon. The cherry, elm and pine trees were at the paddle boat parking area at the Tidal Basin near the Jefferson Memorial.
 


 “We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”
