Is Donald Trump Trying to Get Impeached?

I've been watching Trump's behavior since the release of Mueller's report. Trump has ordered his administration to stonewall Congress on all attempts at oversight and investigation. Subpoenas for documents are being ignored, witnesses are refusing to testify. The House has oversight responsibilities. Trump is risking a constitutional crisis in which Democrats may have to impeach him - like it or not - to maintain the rule of law.

So, the question is, is Trump playing chicken? Or has he decided as a political strategy that he wants to be impeached?
Think of it for a moment. There is no danger of the republican held senate actually removing Trump from office. Impeachment by the House might motivate the anger of Trump's base, and encourage better turnout in 2020. In 2016 Trump only had an approval of about 40%. But 95% of those people voted as opposed to only about 75% of those with a favorable opinion of Clinton voting.

Impeachment helped Bill Clinton's numbers. And the Kavanaugh hearings helped Trump's numbers. Maybe he wants to pick the mother of all fights with the House in the hopes the dems look shrill and he wins?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
