Well, if his sister had a gun she could have prevented this:

A 13-year-old girl has died after authorities say she was shot Saturday by her 9-year-old brother, local media reported.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said the girl would not give up a video game controller when her brother wanted it. Cantrell said she was shot in the back of the head, and that the bullet went through her brain.

The girl was rushed to Le Bonheur's Children's Hospital in Memphis. Cantrell said late Sunday that she died of her injuries, WLOV-TV and other media reported.

One case of a person with mental health issues. One case of violent video games. The blame for each of these incidents is clear according to the “logic” of gun rights groups. It has nothing to do with guns.

It is really disheartening that we cannot get some more things in place to protect the innocent victims of these gun tragedies. At least the younger generation seems to care more as we have recently seen than their adult mentors.

This country has gone insane.
Utterly demoralizing.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: If only law-abiding shoppers would have been packing heat at the mall

Two students at a Maryland high school were injured Tuesday after a colleague opened fire in the hallway just before the start of classes, authorities said.

Looks we had another school shooting in some private school in Maryland today.  Geez, if we only had more teachers and administrators packing heat, they could have stopped this.  The answer is clear:  If we had more guns, there would be less gun violence.

Great Mills High School is a public school, not private.  I have relatives that live down there and graduated from that high school.

From other news reports, it appears the school resource officer (police officer), shot and contained the student who brought the gun to school.  Who knows how bad it would have been if not for his/her actions.

Great Mills High School is a public school, not private. - Brady

Thanks for the clarification, Brady, but I'm not sure if it makes a difference.  Anyway, I can predict how some of our fellow citizens will react .............. They will praise the officer who who 'shot and contained' the student who brought the gun to school, but will not address the proliferation of weaponry in America.  Had the kid been packing an AR-15 instead of a handgun we might have had another incident like we had in Parkland, Florida.

Hey, hold on there.
Isn't it too soon to talk about guns, and disgraceful to inject politics into this very serious issue?

Well, that didn't take long did it?  Only 2 children were shot.  That's a win.  We'll send our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
