VP Pence & his wife went to an NFL game today

But they left before the game started. Why, you might ask. Was it standing room only? Did they give their seats to some underprivileged kids who couldn’t afford the tickets? Did one of them get sick? Was he called away for some important international crisis? Did he fly back to the USVI and Puerto Rico (or Puuerrrto Rrrricooo as president Trump So presumptively over emphasized the pronunciation in a speech  at a Hispanic honors event the other night)?

Well, the answer is “NO” to all those reasons. He and his wife left after a few players knelt during the national anthem. He couldn’t stand seeing that disrespect. Besides Trump tweeted (from his golf resort in northern Virginia) after the Pences left the stadium, that he told Pence to leave if he witnessed any of that ‘disrespect’. So, this was a planned, staged, reality TV performance by the Pences purely for visual effect.

Don’t you wish the administration put the same amount energy into things that really matter to the American people as they do to insignificant emotional BS that they feel will appeal to the dwindling group of ignorant voters that he has left out there supporting his agenda (whatever that actually is)?

Re: VP Pence & his wife went to an NFL game today

Too bad . . . Mr. & Mrs. Veep missed one heckuva game. The Colts won when Adam Vinatieri kicked afield goal with 1:38 left in OT.

But, as far as Trump and Pence are concerned, the game will be most remembered for the Pences leaving before the kickoff to show their disgust with a few despicable players showing disrespect for the flag. You know, the same flag Trump employed every trick in the book to avoid serving due to his ‘bone spurs in his heel’ (just don’t ask him which heel).

Now that’s real disrespect.

And while the Pences' were leaving, they walked past several dozen people waiting in line for a hot dog, another dozen downing beers, texting their friends, etc. while the National Anthem was playing.

I've had enough of this administration, I really have.

Re: VP Pence & his wife went to an NFL game today

It was a totally planned political PR stunt to keep the sheeple riled up and forgetting that nothing is getting done. How many times will we see this type of act ?  Unless they can actually DO SOMETHING - I expect quite a few more of the same type of shenanigans.

Tennyson is correct.
It was a stunt designed to keep this manufactured controversy Alive.
Keep people focused on this rather than the fact that this administration cannot solve any of our problems.

Pence inconvenienced tens of thousands of football fans, and probably cost the taxpayers about a quarter million bucks, all to use the flag and the anthem as political props.
Disgusting.

Hey, if you want to support American values, fly to Charlottesville and confront Nazis.

MSNBC is reporting that the Secret Service detail traveling with the Vice President was told that they "would not be there long" when they were setting up at the stadium.

It was a shameful abuse of power.

Can you imagine the reaction if Obama and Biden had set up something like this?

It will not bother the Trump base. Trump and his base view the President's job differently than you or I. We are results oriented. We expect the President to put forth an agenda. Trump doesn't really have an agenda (Aside from reversing anything associated with Obama and helping out polluting industries).

The Trumpers are motivated by a primal resentment towards the modern world. Trump and his followers see the President's job as getting involved in a series of dramatic confrontations with the people that they hate. Elitist celebrities, uppity athletes, egghead scientists, a Puerto Rican mayor who won't grovel, the leader of NK. It is not important to them if anything gets accomplished, or even if the NFL is something that a President really should spend his time on. All that they care about is that Trump insults and tells off the people that they hate.

As long as Trump does that, and satisfies this emotional itch, he can lie, be incompetent, ruin the air that they breath, collude with Russians, and get richer.

Re: VP Pence & his wife went to an NFL game today

Pence has succumbed and fallen through the Trump trap door of power. He figures he’ll endure in a subservient role for the next 3 years, Trump will tire of the fact that citizens actually expect the president to actually lead rather than just perform in the job, and Pence will have the inside track to the nomination in 2020. Unfortunately, Pence doesn’t realize (yet) that washing off the stink of the Trump administration will require more than a shower and a lame explanation of just doing what he was told.

You notice how many stormed out with Pence. NONE that I could see.

People are catching on to these PR stunts.

If anyone had any respect for Pence before this stunt, I would imagine they are rethinking their thoughts about him.
