Shameful

Donald Trump uses the London attacks to push his travel ban.
He seems to believe that everything is about him, and the people of the world are nothing more than stage props, bodies to be used to get what he wants.

Trump uses suspected London terror attacks to again make case for US travel ban

President Trump responded Saturday evening to suspected terror attacks in London by vowing U.S. support and apparently using the incidents to bolster his legal argument for a travel ban into the United States.

Trump has tweeted three times since the first incident was reported on the London Bridge shortly after midnight local time.

“Fears of new terror attack after van 'mows down 20 people' on London Bridge …,” the president retweeted from the news aggregator DrudgeReport.com.

We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!

A second incident was reported in London shortly after the bridge incident -- multiple stabbings at the nearby Borough Market.

London police said about an hour after the attacks that they are terror related. They also said a third incident, in a southern part of the city named Vauxhall and thought to be connected to the other attacks, has been ruled out as a terror strike.

Trump later tweeted: “We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!”

Re: Shameful

Does he explain how a travel ban would stop terrorist attacks?  I don't get it.

Re: Shameful

The terrorist attack like all before it was horrible.

Our reactions, I believe, only further the likelihood of more occuring for two reasons

1) one of the things that terrorists seek is recognition for their beliefs. The more we publicize this (Just look at all the news that use the headlines for their marketing purposes) the more the people that perpetrate this feel that they have served their purpose. It was the same in many copy cat killings here in the US that were not Muslim related as well. I just adds fuel to those that think they will gain noterity by doing these horrible things and

2) it also ramps up hatred by one group for another. In this case non-Muslims against Muslims. As the hatred bubble over into speech and action against those who are not similarly inclined, they then become distrustful and even hateful of those who wrongly show hate and discrimination to them. It is a viscous cycle. Many fundamentalists actually want this to happen to give credence to their warped beliefs.

Re: Shameful

Appears the Trumpster continues to fan the flames with class and style:

WASHINGTON — President Trump and his team renewed a trans-Atlantic feud with the mayor of London on Sunday, portraying him as soft on terrorism a day after seven people were killed and dozens more wounded in the latest attack in the British capital.

Mr. Trump assailed Mayor Sadiq Khan by mischaracterizing his comments following the attack. After condemning the “cowardly terrorists,” Mr. Khan told Londoners not “to be alarmed” by seeing more police officers on the streets. Mr. Trump presented it as if Mr. Khan had meant they should not be alarmed by terrorism. The mayor’s office fired back, calling Mr. Trump “ill informed.”

Can we survive this guy for the next 4 years?

Re: Shameful

At the VERY MOMENT that we as a nation should be standing shoulder to shoulder with them, the cretin Trump wants to score political points.
